Fostering is a way to improve the chances of abandoned animals with special needs in a caring home environment, helping them find permanent, loving homes once they become suitable for adoption.

What makes a Good foster?

Providing a temporary haven requires dedication, patience, and a lot of heart. Here's what our animals need most.

For Dogs

  • Basic daily needs such as walking and feeding
  • Help teach basic manners in a friendly disciplined manner
  • Bring to adoption events & medical appointments
  • Introduce your foster dog to potential adopters
  • Give a lot of love and affection!
Cat Foster

For Cats

  • Provide safe, clean and warm indoor environment
  • Bring to medical appointments
  • Introduce your foster cat to potential adopters
  • Give a lot of love and affection!
  • Monitor health and behavior daily
Flexibility & Support

How It Works

We ensure that every foster journey is supported by our dedicated team, providing you with everything needed to succeed.

Duration of Stay

Stays are flexible, ranging from a few days to a few months. It depends on the specific needs of the animal and your availability. We work with your schedule.

Medical Support

KRF covers all pre-approved medical expenses. We provide bills and guidance. We're always just a text or call away for any health concerns.

Meet Our Coordinator

Parul Sharma

Our volunteer Foster Parent Coordinator assists with all foster animal placements and programme communication.

Parul has helped KRF improve and expand our Foster Programme, bringing responsible foster parents on board and looking after their needs.

She ensures the quality of care is maintained at a high standard and finds appropriate matches for animals with different needs in a timely manner.

Are You Ready?

A quick checklist to help you prepare your home for a new arrival.

Secure Space

A quiet, safe room or area where the animal can decompress for the first 48-72 hours.

Supplies

Basic food bowls, bedding, and toys. We can help provide these if needed!

Time & Love

The willingness to provide affection and monitor their progress daily.
